From
the Outback to the Ozarks
How one
trike pilot’s dreams of the Australian Outback led
him to airborne adventures in the Ozark Mountains of
Arkansas. Author Zen Boulden explains what led him
to his trike of choice, and how he lives out his
dreams in his own backyard.
Runway
Markings
Sure,
ultralight pilots mostly fly off of grass airstrips
and even unimproved fields. But every once in a
while, we find ourselves visiting an honest-to
goodness airport – with asphalt and everything! And
there are all sorts of things painted on the runway…
will you know what to do?
In this month’s “Short Course,” Jim Sweeney explains
the most common and most important runway markings,
as a review or primer should you find yourself
anywhere a bit busier than usual this flying season.
